Robert Burns Birthday Celebration, 2012

Address to a Haggis

Dear Friends,

Our second annual Robert Burns Pot-luck Celebration this past January was a great success! Thanks to all who came and joined in the friendly atmosphere. We had close to 90 guests this time. As before, it was like a huge Thanksgiving dinner in January, as you can see from the photos! There was more than enough variety and quantity, with plenty of salads, main courses, desserts and, of course, Kathleen’s delicious haggis and neeps.

Once again, we have some happy news for you Robert Burns revelers. We’re repeating our no-charge-for-admission Robert Burns Pot-Luck Celebration this coming January!

Kathleen’s delicious haggis and neeps will be served, and we’ll have the traditional Address to a Haggis, the Toasts to the Lads and the Lasses, the Toast to the Immortal Memory, and the music of the pipes and other special entertainment!

To keep the cost as low as possible, it will be pot-luck. Please bring a hot dish, a salad, or a dessert to share. Please also bring your own tableware. (We also appreciate donations of prizes for the drawing!)

Other than that, there’s no charge for admission!

Join us in celebrating the birth of Scotland’s greatest poet, Robbie Burns!

• When: Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, 6:30 p.m.

• Where: St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Fellowship Hall, 4575 Auhay Drive, Santa Barbara. Map Link.

• Bring your friends, guests are welcome!

• It’s pot-luck! Please bring a hot dish, a salad, or a dessert to share (enough for 6 to 8 people).

• Please bring your own plates, cups and tableware.

• Wearing of Highland dress or Scottish attire is encouraged!

Please RSVP by Thursday, Jan. 26th, 805-967-0309.

We look forward to seeing you then!
